Our senior leadership team are responsible for the overall development and implementation of policy and initiatives to drive sustainable growth across the Greater Birmingham and Solihull area and beyond. The team oversee and support their teams to deliver various elements the delivery of the LEP’s Strategic Economic Plan and its contribution to the West Midlands Local Industrial Strategy.
GBSLEP is in receipt of material sums of public sector funding it is therefore key that it can evidence to both local and national stakeholders that it has robust and transparent processes and procedures in place to deliver it’s required aims. The governance team play an important role in supporting our Board and sub-Boards as well as close links with key government departments.
The support team provide critical functions to ensure the smooth operation of GBSLEP – spanning across Human Resources, Finance and executive support. The team embodies our culture of ambition, collaboration, delivery and continuous improvement, and ensure everyone across the organisation is enabled to achieve their full potential and that GBSLEP achieves the targets set out in its Strategic Economic Plan.
The Programme team ensure that GBSLEP achieves the targets set out in its Strategic Economic Plan by enabling the successful delivery of supporting capital projects. The team is responsible for the delivery of a pipeline of exciting and strategically significant projects that generate jobs, improve transport links, create houses and upskill our people. Major programmes include the £433m Local Growth Fund and the Birmingham City Centre Enterprise Zone.
Strategy (Skills, Place, Business & Innovation)
The strategy team works across the three core pillars of GBSLEP’s Strategic Economic Plan to design and deliver policy interventions that drive economic growth, create jobs and improve the quality of life across our area. The team play a pivotal role in delivering the LEPs agenda and work closely with key stakeholders across industry, the public sector and education to ensure we make meaningful interventions.
Communications & Stakeholder Engagement
With so many exciting projects and stories to shout about, this busy department takes the lead on shining a light on the impact made by GBSLEP investments. As well as sharing news, the department produces key pieces of annual communication, including reports and events, and works closely with local and national stakeholders to highlight their stories too.
The Growth Hub team is a diverse group with a range of different expertise and professional backgrounds. Trained to industry accredited standards, the Hub team offer the best advice and guidance available. Business advisers understand the funding, finance and support landscape and work with businesses to realise their growth ambitions.
