Young People's Representative
Sophie has more than five years’ experience in delivering strategic communications within in-house and agency roles across Birmingham and the Midlands.
A first-class graduate of Birmingham City University, she was part of the founding team of PR agency Story Comms in her final year of study and now serves as an account manager for clients across the corporate and business sectors across the UK. Her former experience spans marketing and communications roles at Birmingham City University and national employee benefits firm Busy Bees Benefits.
Her background at Story has seen her devise and run highly creative, thought-provoking and award-winning regional and national campaigns for clients, gaining recognition as the city’s ‘Future Face of Communications’ in 2016 by the Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce and recently being featured as one of the city’s most influential young people in Birmingham Live’s 30 Under 30.
Sophie is currently the UK’s first Director for Young People on the GBSLEP board – tasked with galvanising the skills and engagement of the city’s young people. She also acts as the marketing lead for Birmingham Future’s Infrastructure Committee.
