GBSLEP Growth Hub delivers government Peer Networks Programme

28 Apr 2022

416 businesses have benefitted from the Government-backed Peer Network programme delivered through the GBSLEP Growth Hub.

Over the last 18 months, diverse groups of business leaders from various industries have collaboratively worked together to discuss their own challenges, gain valuable feedback and implement practical solutions to overcome them.

Matt Cusack, Director at Start.Biz who participated in the programme commented:

“GBSLEP Growth Hub is full of people who have a lot of expertise in their area and are very well connected.”
“I think Peer Networks was different to other networking groups because we got to speak to fellow business owners going through the same challenges of running an enterprise.
“From finance and HR to sales, marketing and much more, expert facilitators gave the groups the flexibility to create a trusted support network which in turn helped us to build and strengthen our business and improve overall performance.”

GBSLEP Growth Hub’s Peer Networks programme has been part of the wider offering of business support.

Tara Tomes, Founder and Managing Director of EAST VILLAGE PR also took part in the programme added:

“Running a business is a lonely, challenging, and incredibly brilliant thing to do. In a smaller business, in particular, it can be difficult to step outside of the day-to-day to explore the areas where you have the most opportunity but also need support.
“Being part of Peer Groups was a brilliant experience, as I was able to share so many thoughts, feelings, and ideas with fellow business leaders. It’s genuinely changed the strategy behind our business growth. Added to that, we’ve also had a fantastic account manager through the Growth Hub, who’s helped signpost new commercial avenues, great ways to gain exposure, and funding opportunities.
“I think anybody running or leading a business that wants to grow and develop definitely needs the support of the Growth Hub.”

Although the programme has now been completed, GBSLEP is continuing to help businesses across the region to grow and thrive through its range of free services. This includes a peer group for female entrepreneurs to discuss goals, barriers, and support for each other.

The group is open to any sector or industry and the next round of workshops begins in May. For more information, please contact the GBSLEP Growth Hub Account Manager Charlotte Bowden at charlotte.bowden@gbslepgrowthhub.co.uk.
