Kickstart Scheme officially launched

The Kickstart Scheme is a 6 month paid job placement with a local employer, funded 100% by the Government. It provides an opportunity for young people to gain valuable work experience in many of the UK’s most exciting companies.

GBSLEP Growth Hub is working with local Kickstart Gateway Organisations to support employers who want to provide less than 30 job placements for young people in the Kickstart Scheme.

This fantastic opportunity will help “young people get a great start in work” whilst your business will benefit from all the skills and knowledge young people bring with them.

Employers will receive:

·        100% of the relevant National Minimum Wage for that age group for 25 hours per week for 6 months

·        associated National Insurance Contributions and employer minimum automatic enrolment contributions

·        £1,500 of extra funding is provided to support the young people with the experience, skills and training to help move them onto more sustainable employment.

How to apply or register your interest

If your organisation wants to create fewer than 30 job placements, we can help you do this, as you are not eligible to able to apply directly.
