PM urged by LEP Chairs in the Midlands and the North to deliver HS2 without further delay

A joint letter has been sent to the Prime Minister today (23rd January 2020) from Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) Chairs in the Midlands and the North urging him to deliver HS2 without further delay.

The letter, signed by 19 LEP Chairs, has been co-ordinated by the Greater Birmingham and Solihull LEP.

It sets out how HS2 will create a train network fit for the 21st century, unlocking significant growth, increasing productivity and unleashing the potential of towns, cities and communities across the Midlands Engine and Northern Powerhouse.

It asks the Prime Minister to commit to the full HS2 network and “seize this opportunity to level up the economy and change the lives and prospects of communities and businesses across the country”.
