Our commitments to you:

1. We will provide Business Advice and Support to small and medium-sized businesses in areas including Access to Finance, Skills, Energy Efficiency and Export support.

2. We will engage in employer-led skills activity, support careers advice and apprenticeship support and create employment opportunities, including the 2022 Commonwealth Games.

3. We will manage the Enterprise Zone programme and develop a pipeline of development opportunities. We will develop and deliver Cultural Action Zones to reinvigorate our local towns, cities and neighbourhoods.

4. We will be FLEXIBLE and AGILE and will PIVOT our services because of shifting political and economic circumstances such as the Ukraine War.

"We are committed to maximising the tremendous opportunities that the Commonwealth Games is providing; from international investment to attracting new companies to relocate to the city region, to enhancing opportunities for our SMEs and creating jobs for our residents.

"At the same time, LEPs are undergoing a period of transition. The Levelling Up White Paper, which was published in February 2022, stated the Government wants LEPs to integrate with Combined Authorities. For GBSLEP this means a closer working relationship with the West Midlands Combined Authority and Mayor Andy Street. As we work out the details of what this may look like, we will continue to deliver inclusive economic growth."
